Client & the Business Case:
The client is the world’s leading telecommunications operators with 172,000 employees worldwide, with Sales Revenue of 45.3 billion euros in 2011 and resent in 35 countries, the Group had a customer base of 226 million customers. The operation department determines the feasibility and profitability of every new order request and monitor the performance. The team was manually consolidating the data from multiple excel sheets and data sources and analyzing it to arrive at the costing and budgeting models. The need was to eliminate the manual process and automatically retrieve the data from multiple data sources to excel and provide the data in Pivot Tables and Charts in a secured LDAP and User authentication environment, where the complete log history has to be tracked.

Solution:
Chimera studied and provided an end to end automation solution for retrieving and consolidating data from multiple data sources including SQL Servers, by chosing Excel VBA Macros to fetch the data from SQL Servers and other sources using Windos DSN. Enabled User Authentication and LDAP Authentication on Excel macros by using Web Services functionalities on the excel sheets. Also, provided a complete log history of User Access, which includes User Details, Date & Time, IP etc. Hence eliminated the manual intervention and consolidation of data , and also provided the reports templates, which can be posted on a web portal.
